What is a masterclass?

Our Masterclasses at Coach-Wave are intensive, multi-week online courses designed specifically for athletes who want to strengthen their mental game. Each course combines well-founded knowledge from sports psychology with practical exercises, worksheets, and tools that can be directly applied in training or competition. You’ll be guided by experienced coaches and sports psychologists – and in live sessions, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, discuss challenges, and receive professional feedback. Ideal for anyone who wants to be as strong mentally as they are physically.

Who are the coaches on Coach-Wave?

At Coach-Wave, we only work with licensed coaches, psychologists and trained psychotherapists. We carefully review their training and experience and provide you with their feedback. In this way, we relieve you of the difficult search for a qualified coach who suits you.

What's the difference between a masterclass and a 1:1 coaching?

In our Masterclasses, you’ll work over several weeks in a group setting on building your mental foundation or tackling a specific topic. You’ll receive structured knowledge, exercises, tools, and live sessions with experts.

1:1 coaching is tailored specifically to you – it allows you to address your personal challenges directly with a coach, in a flexible and confidential setting. Both formats can also be combined perfectly.

How much time do I need to set aside per week for a masterclass?

Plan approximately 75–90 minutes per week for the live session. Additionally, you should allow about 30–45 minutes for exercises, reflection, and transferring the content into your daily training routine. Everything is designed to strengthen you—not overwhelm you.

What’s the difference between coaches/psychologists/psychotherapists?

Psychologists are people who have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology.

Psychological psychotherapists have completed 3-5 years of state-recognized additional training in psychotherapy in addition to their Bachelor's and Master's degree in psychology. 
The terms psychologist and psychotherapist are legally protected terms.

"Coach" is not a protected term. This means that anyone can call themselves a coach and charge privately. That is why we carefully check that all our coaches have a completed and recognized coaching license.

PS: All coaches on Coach-Wave are psychologists, licensed psychotherapists or have a completed and recognized coaching license.

How much is a masterclass or 1:1 coaching?

Masterclass:The cost of a Masterclass depends on its duration. A 4-week course starts at €280.

1:1 Coaching:Each coach sets their own rates, so prices may vary. Based on experience, coaching sessions typically range between €50 and €150. Payment is made directly between you and your coach.

How is life coaching different from therapy?

Psychotherapy focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders (psychopathology) and is usually a process that extends over a longer period of time.

Coaching is not used on the basis of a medical diagnosis. It is used to achieve personal goals, solve problems (or master challenges) and thus to develop personal potential and individual development. Coaching is solution-oriented and focuses very strongly on the future.
